The UAE’s Golden Jubilee calls for an equally grand celebration. Throughout the month starting on Flag Day 3rd November, Global Village will be hosting special events to celebrate “50 Years of Togetherness”.

Because a picture speaks a thousand words we are running a photography contest in partnership with the The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Awards (HIPA). At Global Village people from around the world work hand in hand to create wonder for millions of guests. We are asking professionals and amateurs alike to submit incredible images that capture the beauty of inclusivity and spirit of our nation.
If you're over 18 and a talented photographer, simply sign up on the HIPA website and follow the instructions to enter the contest and get a photography permit for Global Village.
Over and above the prestige of winning a HIPA photography contest, winners will also receive:
- 1st Prize: AED 50 000 cash prize and a limited edition Gold trophy
- 2nd Prize: AED 26 000 cash prize and a limited edition Silver trophy
- 3rd Prize: AED 26 000 cash prize and a limited edition Glass trophy

Under 18s can also get in on the action.
We're running a special contest for young photographers. How do you enter? Simple! Just post a picture which captures the spirit of the nation at Global Village on Instagram with the hashtags GVWOW and Together. The winning picture will be projected on Festival Wheel in Global Village and the winning photographer will be getting an AED5000 cash prize! This contest is only open to under 18 year olds and the winner will be invited to Global Village on National Day weekend to get their prize and enjoy a great evening at Global Village for our National Day celebrations.
