Litter Clean Up Hike: Shawka

Litter Clean Up Hike: Shawka

Shawka is a popular area for hikers, cyclists and campers. As such, while there is great natural beauty, there unfortunately is a fair amount of rubbish too!

We will be walking through the wadi bed towards a camel farm, cleaning as we go. We will continue until 11:00/11:30 (depending how far we have made it) when we will break for lunch/snacks in the shade and then turn back.

Gulf for Good will provide biodegradable bags and gloves.

Hike difficulty: Easy
Elevation gain: 100m
Distance: approx. 7km

Meeting Time: We will meet at Wadi Shawka at 8:15am for a prompt 8:30am start.
Carpooling is available at 6:30am from Emirates NBD/EPPCO on Al Ain Road https://maps.google.com/?q=25.058420,56.013672. Expect to be back in Dubai by 2:45pm. (Distance from Dubai is 1hr 15min.)

Please let us know where you will be meeting us! As we don’t want to delay this event, we won’t be waiting for late comers.

Booking a place: Simply email your RSVP to fitness@gulf4good.org. You will receive an email with hike details and payment link - please note payment is required to secure your place, we will confirm by email.
Spots are limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Cost: AED50 + VAT

FREE for registered challengers and soulFIT members.
