One event not to miss on your cycling calendar is the 18 January 2019 Liwa Cycle Race which is a community cycling event presented by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The stunning area of Liwa with the start/finish area near Moreeb dune will surely make you want to come back year after year. The race will see riders traverse the most picturesque terrain in the Empty Quarter of the United Arab Emirates.

Distances:
- Long: 102 km
- Medium: 80 km
- Short: 44 km (road bike & MTB)
- Juniors (6-12 years): 8 km or 16 km
Timings:
- 8:00 am: Start 102 km
- 8:05 am: Start 80 km
- 8:20 am: Start 44 km road race & MTB race
- 8:40 am: Start junior 8 km or 16 km
Camping at Liwa: Should you wish to book a tent or tent site at Moreeb Dune, please contact michelle@gulfmultisport.com if you did not do so when during registration for the ride. Cost of a one-pole tent with light and power socket is AED275 | two-pole tent with light and power socket is AED330 | access to a campsite is AED55. You will need an air mattress and sleeping bag.

PLEASE NOTE: tents have a sand surface so consider bringing a mat to enhance your comfort level.
