Teen’s Tour and Workshop: Instrument Making

Teen’s Tour and Workshop: Instrument Making

The Jameel Arts Centre holds together a series of tours and workshops for youth.

The workshops feature a guided tour of the galleries and a discovery journey of artworks followed by creative hands-on activities, unique to each visit and led by artists and educators.

Sessions are free-to-attend with advance registration required. Register by visiting the workshop page here. Limited spaces available.

This session is the first Jameel Arts Centre workshop to focus on music and is held by guitar-maker, Basil Azizoghly. Participants will create their own percussion instrument to play but also keep. The workshop features an introduction to understanding sound and music and making-skills focusing on up-cycling and creativity.

Key workshop takeaways focus on looking at art but also on making and reflecting.

Basil Azizoghly is a Luthier/stringed instrument- maker based out of Sharjah and Dubai. His raw materials include everyday household items and salvaged woods.
