Join the water saving initiative by Mall of the Emirates - One Drop is a Lot
If everyone in the UAE saved a single drop of water every day for a year, we’d not only save countless litres but place less stress on the environment and give our blue planet a much greener future. It’s time for us to step up, make the difference and save every drop we can.
The attention to the little details could save a lot of water:
- Report any leaking taps and pipes, a dripping tap can waste up to 5 liters of water in one hour
- Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth
- Re-use your cooking water to irrigate your plants (after the water cools)
- Use succulent and native plants
- Run the dishwasher/washing machine for full loads only
- Water outdoor plants in the early morning. The cooler temperature means less evaporation means less water required whereby the plants retain their moisture
- Put plastic bottles, or sand bags, or pebbles inside your toilet tank to weigh them down, this will save 10 or more gallons of water per day
- Use a broom, not a hose, when cleaning driveways and sidewalks
- Wash your fruits and vegetables in a pot of water, instead of washing them under a running faucet
