For the new moms and babies born end of September - beginning of October! David and I are looking for playmates to start our PlayMatters Playgroup.
PlayMatters Playgroups base on German PEKiP program that was specifically designed for the 1st year of life and aims at supporting both parents and babies.
The main thing happening at the newborn stage is co-tuning between the baby and the parents, and the PEKiP approach specializes in that.
We support the natural parental sensitivity to help parents trust their own instincts and their babies.
PEKiP playgroups are free from pressure and expectations. We talk about accepting our babies' all conditions, and all our own feelings, about taking a pause and observing the baby, letting baby be, trusting yourself and your baby.
Another key aspect of PEKiP program is focus on baby's active movement. Together we'll see what can be expected of a newborn, and how to create a situation in which baby can be active and show her own self.
Newborn playgroups are a great support in the first months of parenting, no matter if it's your first baby or not.
What to expect of the playgroups:
- Course, created with your specific babies in mind
- Age-appropriate games that can become a part of your everyday baby care
- Different ways of lifting up and carrying babies
- Information of baby's motor and psycho-emotional development
- Self- and co-regulation techniques
- Check points for your attention
- Tools to solve common problems
- Boosting parental sensitivity and confidence
- Support group for moms
- Slow pace, allowing enough time for newborn needs
- Stable group of friendly parents at the same stage of life as you (maximum of 6)
- Safe, quiet, and comfortable space with natural light and changing facilities
Time: Sundays, 9.30 - 11.00,
Dates: 7 November - 5 December (to be confirmed with interested families)
Place: Mommy&Me, Al Ferdous 4, Al Wasl Road, Al Safa, Dubai
Price: 500 aed for 5 weeks
We will have a trial 5-weeks course, and then will decide if we want to continue in January.
