Scubatec Diving Center's favorite training beach needs everyone's help!
We will begin with an Underwater survey of the entire dive site; and clean-up as much as we can on day 1 of AWARE Week.
Then, we will conduct Knowledge Development presentations for Project A.W.A.R.E. courses midweek evenings.
And finally, go back out for a full clean-up and finish up the training dives for the courses by the end of the week.
Every year tens of thousands of marine animals and seabirds die from eating or getting tangled up in marine debris - or trash in the ocean. Marine debris also damages habitats, makes coastal areas unattractive to visit and is expensive to remove. As much as seventy percent of the rubbish entering our ocean sinks to the seafloor; only divers have the skills to tackle underwater marine debris.
Join the movement, don't let your dives go to waste; make every dive a dive against debris!
To participate in the dive you must be a certified diver. Non divers are welcome to swim/snorkel, remove debris from the surface. We recommend all participants have their own gloves for protection from potentially sharp objects.
Water and Sami’s signature brownies will be provided!
