The Book Club and Hive present Monthly Book Club meetings!

Location: The Hive - we are at 501, Mostafawi carpet building, opposite Gate 1 of the Fahidi metro station and in line with Al Ain Centre.

1. What happens in a book club?
We discuss the book of the month, engage in games and other activities surrounding the theme of the book, have soulful conversations, explore new worlds, make new friends and satiate our intellectual appetites 🤍

2. Do I need to prepare for the meeting?
No preparation needed! Simply read the book of the month to participate (you can even show up for the meeting without having finished the book. It’s a safe space as we build this habit and explore conversations)

3. Logistics of the meeting
Every month we pick a new book at the meeting itself. Members of the book have a say in which book gets selected so if you’re interested in reading a particular book all you have to do is show up, nominate and vote for the desired book! Date, time and venue are announced atleast 2-3 weeks ahead of the meeting.

4. What is the aim of the Book Club?
The aim could be different for different people - for some it is to get into the regular habit of reading, to explore genres outside of your comfort zone, to connect with people with similar mindsets, to find a community and engage in stimulating conversations that also doubles as a safe space, to build confidence as you voice your opinions/share your thoughts on the book of the month or even simply to show up for the food and the engaging conversation!
