Feelings and Friends: A Social Skills Practice Group

Feelings and Friends: A Social Skills Practice Group

In this group, children will learn and practice pro-social behaviors through play and unstructured activities and games with the support of trained facilitators. The aim is for participants to extend positive interactions outside the group and apply them to real issues that they face at school and in their lives.

Our facilitators will help children become more aware of their feelings, and better able to calm down using different tools and strategies, They will also work with them on interacting more effectively with others to build better relationships and handle difficult situations.

When children become more attuned to their own and others’ feelings, and more skilled at self-regulation and interpersonal communication, they are more likely to:

• Have fewer outbursts and tantrums
• Improve their relationships with siblings and other kids
• Behave better at home and school
• Become calmer and happier overall
