In this workshop, we will be creating a beautifully acrylic-painted circular canvas like the one shown in the photos!
We will require 3 art sessions to complete the canvas. Please RSVP to confirm participation!
WEEK 1: The first session will be focused on the technique of Authentic Eastern block printing and painting inspired by truck art. Truck art is a popular form of regional decoration in South Asia, featuring elaborate floral patterns and calligraphy.
WEEK 2: The second session will focus on a Bauhaus style pattern. A stylish and bold contemporary form of art with the technique originating from Munich in the 1920s.
WEEK 3: Our final session will focus on Islamic geometry and Moroccan tile patterns inspired by ‘Zellige’ mosaic tile-work. The vibrant colors and delicate patterns will bring the canvas all together!
Each session will run for an hour and a half.
All 3 classes must be attended to take home a finished product.
The instructor, Hibah Hoque, is a Graphic Designer by passion and practice. She graduated with First Class Honours in Illustration and Visual Media from the University of Arts London and has studied Typographic Design at Central Saint Martins. She has worked as a Graphic Designer in a print and design studio in London, UK and has worked for the Islamic Fashion and Design Council in Dubai in editorial design and in leading a Social Media and Marketing Team. Alongside her work as a Graphic Designer, she teaches
workshops for students aged 5-16 focusing on the art history, techniques, and skills involved in fine art and design.
