Great for families day out!
Start the morning with a fun bouldering hike in the Leopard Canyon and then have lunch and spend the afternoon rock climbing on REAL rocks. The Challenging Adventure is an amazing place!
The instructors are super qualified and professional, and the rock climbing is a great chance to find out how it feels to climb on real rocks off the climbing walls. Trekking shoes are essential, but can be loaned upon arrival as long as you request them with your waiver in advance. However, provided that you run, swim, bike, or do fitness classes regularly, you will enjoy this great beginner hike, suitable for all ages, for a morning getaway. Not more than 3 hours total, but rocky walk on more or less not a really hilly area in the mountains of Jabal Jais. This is appropriate for beginners to get a chance to try trekking and will be limited to 20 trekkers. This hike, however, is designed to be more accessible for people to join and get a taste of trekking so there isn't any bus or lunch service on offer as normal, only the guides.
The hike will take you on a flat section through the wadi, and over the ridge for an amazing view of the Hajjar mountains. Though its still hot in the afternoons, this is a short hike not more than 4 hours. However, you still will need to take 3 liters of water with you! Hiking shoes strongly recommended.
Get an early start: 8 am is the meeting time in RAK. The location is in RAK, about 3 hours from Abu Dhabi and 1.5 from Dubai. This is a full day activity, you will be finished at 6 pm. After the morning trek, you will have lunch at the Challenging Adventure. This place is amazing! You will meet the qualified trainers and spend the afternoon rock climbing, doing archery or other activiites they have at the center.
