Then this hike is the best one to choose. Visit the beautiful new trails in Hatta, visit the gazelles and oryx while you listen to birds and discover the mountains and foothills in the Hajjar mountains.

Location: Hatta, 1.5 hours driving from Dubai
Cost: 1 adult 200 dh + VAT; 1 kid 100 dh + VAT
This hike will take you through the newly designed trails in Hatta which wind around the lake and up around the small hills through the mountains passing by a few farms and ancient settlements with the ruins of villages. The hike will be varied with a gentle paced walk, and shorter route designed specifically for the kids to enjoy. Kids will be given a Bingo card to help them spot some nature related stuff and the winner will receive a prize.
We’ll also have a great snack stop, just for kids!
What’s the trail like:
The trail is well-defined on trails and tracks.
What is the scenery like?
You will see a wide variety of small hills tucked behind bigger mountains, many trees, bushes, goats, donkeys, gazelles, oryx and lakes.
Three sections:
- Pass through some local farms on the flat section
- Loop around the smaller hills
- Drop by the ancient village and the mountain ridge
What is special about this hike?
This hike is a kids’ favorite and offers a great bonding opportunity for families. It gives them a chance to experience hiking and the mountains without worrying about their footing or their fitness.
They love the walk along the ridge of two foothills and the unobstructed view of the Hatta Mountain Range while playing. The Hatta mountains are a unique part of the UAE, very different from other mountains.
What fitness level is required to enjoy this trek?
Any fitness level will enjoy this hike as we can adjust the pace and the distance. This is strongly recommended as a First Hike Experience
How long is the hike?
The hike can vary between 2.5 to 3 hours, around 5 km
Do you need an off road car to reach?
There is a parking lot just off the main highway, no off road car is required.
How to reach the meeting point:
We will send you the meeting location pin and all other useful info in the Google calendar invitation you receive once you book and pay in full. You can then join the whatsapp group and get updates on the morning of arrival to confirm.
What if I have to cancel? Can I get a refund?
If you cannot attend the hike for any reason, you MUST inform us within 24 hours of the hike starting time if you would like to be credited for future hike. You are not entitled to a refund, but you can rebook your hike for another date anytime within the same season.
Anything less than 24 hours is considered a ‘no show’ and will not be refunded OR credited. Just as it would if you were to go to a concert, a movie, or any other ticketed event.

What to expect on a Family, kid’s friendly hike?
It is an easy hike, well defined trails, easy to walk on for the little explorers to feel confident. Pace & length of the hike will be adjusted to accommodate kids and to give them the chance to feed their curiosity with the help of our special Bingo cards.
