Family Program: Geometry in Sculpture



Have fun with Geometry!
 

Students will work together to build simple sculptures using geometric shapes, students engage in mathematical thinking and gain an understanding of the principles of geometry. They will propose a design and choose an appropriate material to construct their sculptural object.

Held during QUOZ ART FEST, Geometry in Sculpture will by led by instructor Madeleine Butcher. With an MA in Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art, Madeleine has exhibited at the RCA, the Barber Institute, Brooklyn Brewery, Beirut Biel, Dubai World Art Show and abandoned Scottish churches. as well as creating street art in New York, London, Dubai, Marseilles and Barcelona. Driven by bold, contrasting colours and erratic graphics, the themes of music, warmth, joy and immediacy recur throughout her work. She specialises in large-scale works, fused with abstract patterns and intricate illustrations that attempt to capture but also free a subject's character or spirit.
