The Courtyard Playhouse drama classes for kids and teens are designed to give children an excellent grounding in scripted acting with qualified teachers in a beautiful theatre setting and a creative, vibrant community atmosphere.
In addition to lifelong friendships, the skills that children and teenagers develop during drama classes are valuable to those wanting to pursue a career in acting and to those who are joining for a fun, expressive, after-school activity. The theatre fosters life skills such as confidence, public speaking skills, team-work, imagination, communication, and literacy.
All of the classes conclude with a showcase in our theatre, giving the children a chance to put what they have learned into practice and gain important stage experience in front of an audience in a professional theatre.

Workshop participants have the option to gain invaluable experience every Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday at 8-10pm, at the Playhouse weekly improv show, Maestro, to learn the ropes: helping with lighting, sound, scenography, and front of house.
