Kung Hei Fatt Choy everyone! Chinese New Year Special: Parent-Child AppJamming Workshop

Get into the festivity and build your own Chinese New Year app! Learn to code with a fantastic thematic AppJamming Workshop.

This is a parent-child workshop designed for families with the aim to empower students through teaching them problem solving using technology.

You will learn programming hands-on and create your own mobile apps, which will be fun to be part of this learning journey with your kid! This workshop is designed to introduce fundamental computer science concepts.

Applying Design Thinking process to utilizing AppInventor as a language, First Code Academy guide students to apply problem solving skills to their daily lives.

Adapting a curriculum used in Silicon Valley, they cover user-centric design and mobile app development. Students receive personal guidance from professional trained instructors in thinking through algorithms, decomposing problem and formulating multiple solutions.

The workshop covers:

Introduction to computer programming, algorithms and basic logic controls
Creating first app and familiarizing with App Inventor
This workshop finishes with a complete mobile app which you can bring home with your child

What to bring: A laptop, a Gmail account, and a mindset to create and experiment :)
