Elle Lab Girls Coding Camp: AppJamming I

What is Elle Lab?

Elle Lab is First Code Academy’s girls-only coding camps series. The founder Michelle has been empowering young girls how to code from Silicon Valley to different parts of Asia. Having educated in a girls’ only environment through her primary and secondary school years, she believes in the power of a uni-gender education environment. First Code Academy has seen many girls coming to their courses wishing there were more other girls in the classrooms.

They believe that the next generation of female leaders is bold, resourceful and creative. Elle Lab's vision is to create that community of leaders from an early age.

Elle Lab aims to provide an inclusive environment, that is friendly and inviting for girls to experience coding the first time, meet fellow creative girls-coders and create projects with technology.

First Code Academy’s flagship AppJamming program, introduced under the Elle Lab, aims to empower students through teaching them problem solving using technology. From introducing fundamental computer science concepts, applying Design Thinking process to utilizing AppInventor as a language, they guide students to apply problem solving skills to their daily lives. Adapting a curriculum used in Silicon Valley, they cover user-centric design and mobile app development. Students receive personal guidance from professional trained instructors in thinking through algorithms, decomposing problem and formulating multiple solutions.

P.S. Students in this course develop apps that are compatible with Android system, not iOS system.
