Nature walks, water play, gardening, crafts, yoga, dance and much more at Garden House this summer.
Morning activities include caring for their school rabbits, gardening, baking, water and outdoor play, going to the beach, visiting their farm and exploring the nearby country park. Everyday a summer nature story will be told by the teachers as well as group circle time full of summer songs and games. Children will eat their packed lunches together (extended day) and have a short rest time before beginning their afternoon activities. These can include outdoor play, handicrafts, yoga and dance, to name a few. As the children make new friends, a warm caring summer family environment will have formed.
Colours of the Rainbow, 10th – 14th July
For the first week of their summer school, children will learn how to tie-dye a backpack. This tie dye technique is easy as projects for children. They will enjoy their own bag to use to pack lunch or other activities.
Hear the World, 17th – 21st July
During this week, children will create music of their own! They will make for themselves a beautiful drum that they can take home. This fun activity inspires creativity not only in the creation of the instrument, but also the time they will enjoy spending in playing simple music.
Bugs and Butterflies, 24th – 28th July
They will spend a delightful week focused on creating small animals and habitats, such as, clay bug houses, wool birds, and beeswax butterflies, to name a few!
Summer Breeze, 31stJuly – 4 th August
During this week of crafts, children will create a wind chime. The project includes sanding the wood (kindergarten class), selecting their favourite colour beads and threading. They love decorating their classroom with homemade wind chimes. Children can then take home their wind chime at the end of the week.
Fairies and Gnomes, 7 th – 11th August
Spend a week making little fairies and gnomes, create a fairy home for their little friends using a variety of natural materials. Children will take home the fairy at the end of the week.
Hong Kong Culture, 14th – 18th August
During this week children will explore Hong Kong culture with stories, crafts, and traditional foods/snacks.
Farming, 21st – 25th August
Spend a delightful week making crafts related to their farm, singing songs about animals and a visit to Garden House farm to explore how food is grown. An ideal way for city children to understand and connect with where their food comes from. By learning how a farm works, children experience the natural world in a new way.
Their school buses cover various areas, and are equipped with seat belts. As safety of children remains their priority a bus mother will accompany all trips.
