Hong Kong Amateur Orchestra
Hong Kong Amateur Orchestra was established on 30th December 2007 and is a registered association in Hong Kong.
Currently Hong Kong Amateur Orchestra has around 40 members, who has various backgrounds which includes professionals, teachers, social workers and students.
They are a group of music lover and would like to share the platform of Hong Kong Amateur Orchestra with other Orchestral music lover. Hong Kong Amateur Philharmonic Orchestra HKAO was founded in 2007 by a group of like-minded friends to promote orchestral music. The orchestra now has about 40 members, most of whom are private instrumental teachers. There are also other professions such as health care workers, disciplined forces, civilians, students Etc .. Because they like to go together orchestral music, spare time per week rehearsal, enjoy the stage performance together, hoping to contribute to the community with your favorite music.
HKAO has actively participated in philanthropic performances over the years: starting with Sichuan's disaster relief fundraising concert for Oxfam Hong Kong in 2008; performing musical instruments at the Elderly Center Charity and Mild Mentally Handicapped Children's Schools from 2009 to 2010; low income Family children participate in orchestral concert; In 2012, gang singer Mr. Su Yongkang held an orchestral charity concert to raise 500,000 for Hunan Hope Primary School construction project; 2013 Hong Kong blind counseling society was invited to participate in the classic movie song symphony night; and In February 2015, a series of "Pink Symphony Night Concert" was held in the cultural center in February 2015. A group of musicians took posters and promotional photos of pink ribbons. The members took the most bold interpretation of breast cancer awareness and hoped that everyone could open the window of mind Prejudice, called ladies do not be afraid of ugly enough to prepare for regular inspections; concerts concert ticket deductions expenses all donated to the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation.
