Jumpstart’s program is designed inspired by the "Task-Based Learning" and "Kinaesthetic Learning" approaches.

It aims to help students build their confidence in communicating in Mandarin through various hands-on activities. By setting up a classroom routine, Jumpstart creates an environment where learners are comfortable in using simple Mandarin to ask and answer questions. They can further access the content-based curriculum such as Chinese story telling, reading, and writing. Jumpstart has carefully incorporated this concept in designing activities and workshops. Following this guideline, Jumpstart's teachers are able to create a student-centered learning environment.
