Changeable Lizard (Calotes versicolor)
Where to spot: on bushes and rocks beside the paths and woodland edges, Eco-garden.
The Changeable Lizard can change colour to reflect their mood or to help to blend in with the environment. The colouration of female and male is generally similar but during the breeding season (May-June), the adult male’s head becomes red with black patches, at either side of the throat. Together with a special push-up display, they attempt to catch the attention of passing females.
