Happy instrumentalists turn industrial noise into mellifluous melodies
After a break in production, five factory workers bang and hammer at different pipes to design a new product. Suddenly they discover they can transform the manufactured tubes into the most incredible musical instruments. The sonorous sounds of Bach, Mozart, Debussy, and other composers soon follow.
Dutch group Calefax Reed Quintet was founded 30 years ago, with its talented musicians going on to receive numerous accolades across Europe. The distinctive ensemble of oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bass clarinet and bassoon covers an astonishingly varied repertoire, including classical, jazz, contemporary and more, while the clever use of drama, physical comedy and audience interaction adds to the on-stage creativity and humour. An unforgettable musical encounter for all the family.
