King of Hong Kong: Creative Journalism

Have you ever imagined what it’d be like if Godzilla “visited” Hong Kong? What if a few fellow monsters joined him on his visit? How would you tell the story of this monster invasion as a journalist on the frontlines?
In this 4-day creative journalism camp, you will design your own characters and game pieces for a custom-made board game, decide how the monster invasion plays out together, and play various different roles as the story unfolds.
Students will learn how to write breaking news reports and in-depth feature articles in a self-published special-edition newspaper covering the monsters’ invasion of Hong Kong!
King of Hong Kong was the first ever game-based “Play & Write” collaboration workshop created by Elephant Community Press and Press Start Hong Kong.
