Pure Group Launches ‘Find Your Space’ Campaign for Mental Wellness

 

  • Relative to other world citizens – 14% more Hong Kongers feel stressed by lack of physical space at home, but 1 in 3 use exercise to relax
  • Pure’s commitment to mental well-being includes a partnership with Mind HK and HK$100 donation to the charity for every new joiner in October

(Hong Kong, 9 October 2019) – In honour of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, Pure Group is launching a new mental wellness campaign: ‘Find Your Space’. Running from now until 3 November, the programme will feature five weeks of special yoga and fitness classes plus new initiatives to support people in Hong Kong to relax, recharge and reset.

Pure and The Economist Intelligence Unit conducted research last year on overcrowding in world cities and found that 14% more Hong Kongers feel stressed by the lack of physical space at home. The study also found that 1 in 3 people in Hong Kong (30.5%) engage in exercise as a means of relaxation and stress relief[1]. Hong Kong has been ranked among the five most stressed places in the world, with approximately 92% of people saying they’re affected by stress[2]; and the Hong Kong Department of Health estimates that 48% of adults in Hong Kong experience sleep disturbance[3].

‘Find Your Space’ will revolve around specially designed yoga and fitness classes that emphasise mindfulness, stress release and self-care. With five unique themes spanning five weeks – Unplug to Recharge, Nurture Your Soul, Boost Your Body, Unwind Your Mind and Pace Yourself – the community will be inspired to find fitness and freedom, from the inside out.

Pure is committed to building awareness for mental well-being in Hong Kong and championing more opportunities to strengthen whole-self wellness within the community. Thus, Pure will also partner with local mental health charity Mind HK to co-host Mental Health 101 workshops for staff members. The introductory sessions will cover topics such as mental health basics, treatment options in town, and fighting stigma. Furthering their support for Mind HK, Pure will donate HK$100 to the charity for every newly joined Pure Cardholder in October.
