STEM / Coding Summer Holiday Camp

STEM / Coding Summer Holiday Camp

Summer holiday is arriving soon, it’s time to plan for kids’ holiday activities.

We offer a series of coding camps to students aged 4 to 16+. Let’s have fun this summer!

We guarantee a 1:4 teacher-student ratio for all of our classes. A high disinfection standard is maintained as well.

ScratchJr (Promoting to K2)

  • Create Animation with iPad

ScratchJr allows young children to learn the concept and basic sequence of coding. Just like playing jigsaw puzzle, complicated programming scripts are simplified to coding blocks. Coding is done by dragging the blocks together correctly in sequence; the characters can then follow the commands of the codes to make up an animated story.

Neuron Electronics (Promoting to K3)

  • Program Electronic Blocks

Makeblock Neuron is a programmable electronic building block platform for STEM education. It contains over 30 kinds of blocks with different functions, so creators can build a variety of innovative gadgets. Combined with intuitive Flow-Based Programming, Neuron enables creators of all programming levels to turn unlimited ideas into reality.

Jimu Robotics (Promoting to P1-P3)

  • Create & Assemble Robotic Models

Students will learn to be an “engineer” in Jimu Robotics course. By having a keen observation towards objects of daily life, including animals and machines, students pay close attention to the characteristics, shape and operation principles of each object. With a general understanding, students will start assembling various small components to rebuild particular objects using different building blocks.

 MIT Scratch (Promoting to P2-P4)

  • Create Animations and Games

With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.

Minecraft Modding (Promoting to P5+)

  • Change the Minecraft World with Coding

“Modding is just another word for modify”. Have you ever played Monopoly and changed the rules a little, to speed up the game? Then you already have experience in modding! Minecraft is not the first video game to be “moddable”, but, until recently, modding was only truly accessible to professional computer programmers who have the skills to write complex code.

AppInventor (Promoting to S1+)

  • Design Mobile Applications

AppInventor involves both the backstage and front-stage creation and design, so students not only have to take care of the commands and sequences for the apps to function as expected, they also have to make sure the user-interface are friendly to be used.

Roblox (Promoting to S1+)

  • Build Roblox Games with Code Kingdoms

The whole Roblox course takes students through all the functions of the gaming system, understanding the programming language Lua, and encouraging them to design every single detail of the game. At each level, students will individually complete a unique game, conversing their knowledge into a practical game.

Web Programming (Promoting to S2+)

  • Build Your First Personal Website

Students will learn to program various objects or elements on a page using HTML, beautify them with different elements or objects using CSS, and use Javascript to create web applications or interactive effects with various functions.

Python (Promoting to S2+)

  • Master Complex Programming Logic

Students will start by learning the basic syntax and simple applications, then they will try developing games in Python. And finally, RoboCoders can achieve an even advanced application by building a data analysis system which can be used to link knowledge to real life using different tools in the library through having Python as the platform.
