Online Chess Tourney

Online Chess Tourney

Scholastic Chess are offering all kids (and their friends) to play in online chess tournament

By now the kids are celebrating an early break from school due to primary and kindergarten school closures. Some parents are probably thinking how to keep the kids occupied and not tear down the homes!

There is no cost to play, but you need to have an account on chesskid.com to play in online tournament.

If you don’t have a chesskid.com account, you need to create one for you. Event team will need the player’s name, school name, year in school, parent’s name, and parent’s email address. (The login credentials will be provided to you by email).

If you already have a chesskid.com account created by Scholastic Chess, you are all set. Just send a message you are interested to join the tournament, and you will be forwarded to further instructions. Just plan to be in front of your PC, before 9:30am. (Sorry mobile devices are not compatible with the online tournament platform).

If you have a chesskid.com account, but Scholastic Chess didn’t create it for you, they need to add you to the chess club.

Please contact for that step at Ben.Chui@ScholasticChess.HK, or WhatsApp +852.6629.5092, or WeChat Ben_C_001.

The tournament will run from 9:30am - 11:30am online. There will be 4 rounds of chess. Each round will be 15 min + 10 sec per move. The highest scoring player(s) will get to choose either Haagen-Dazs ice-cream coupon, or a free entry to our next monthly tournament. The monthly tournaments are live, in-person, and over-the-board.

There will be no tie-breaks for the awards. So, if the highest scoring player scores 3.5 out of a possible 4, everyone who scores 3.5 points get the same prize.

Please contact if you have any questions.
