Chinese Opera Festival is a gem of history and culture!
This artistic gem draws audience from all walks of life generation after generation with its richness and beauty. Since its inception in 2010, the Chinese Opera Festival has been bringing to our audience performances of diverse regional genres noted for their distinct charm. And in its ninth edition, the Festival will continue to follow this tradition.
This year, the Festival again features various regional genres, each with its distinctive character, colour and appeal. After its debut in Hong Kong in 2013, Xinchang Diaoqiang Heritage Protection and Development Centre of Zhejiang returns with the classic piece The Battle at Jiujiang, comedy The Old Water-carrier and five excerpts. In addition, there will be performances of Ninghai Pingdiao Opera.
Festival will take place at Hong Kong Cultural Center and Hong Kong City Hall.
