Think International School

Think International Kindergarten/Nursery was founded in order to provide a bilingual pre-school education to children living in the community, and to prepare them for international primary Schools or local primary schools.

They believe a good pre-school education must be able to discover and develop the talents of individual child. To achieve this goal, they place balanced emphasis on all areas of children's early development including language & cognitive, physical, mathematics, science, artistic, social skills and emotional. They also build children's understanding of responsibility as important members of society.

The objectives of the Kindergarten/Nursery are:

  • To provide a pleasant bilingual pre-school education in a multicultural setting for the local children, and extend it to elementary school education.
  • To provide an English speaking only pre-school education for international children to prepare them for International Primary School.

Children brought up in a balanced education system have a higher emotional quotient (EQ) and are more able to cope with the challenges of an ever changing society.

Applicable to 4 Campuses in Kowloon Tong (Lincoln Road), Laguna City, Ma On Shan & Mei Foo they are dedicated to discovering and developing individual talents of children so as to nurture them to be successful leaders in future.

Their curriculum for kindergarten/nursery is activity-based and they emphasize on topic discussion. Teachers carefully plan and design topics of discussion according to children's life experiences, so as to enhance children’s motivation to learn. This approach also strengthens children’s learning and construction of knowledge of the topics.

In their daily activities, children are engaged in various learning activities that foster their whole-personal growth in all areas of development, including language & cognitive, physical, mathematics, artistic, social, science and emotion. Language activity, arts activity, music activity and role play activity are intermixed. Children are encouraged to be creative and curious and to learn by inquiring and exploration. Gross motor (physical play) activity is also part of their daily activity as it helps strengthen children’s big muscles. Children become better coordinated in their physical movements. It also helps their building of social skills with other children and solving conflicts when it arises.

Field trips are organized in accordance with learning topics as part of children’s active learning activities. These trips can enrich children’s life experiences and understanding of topics. At the same time, field trips expand children’s learning from classrooms to real life environment. Children are guided and encouraged to inquire, explore and express throughout the learning process.

Children-directed Learning Projects are included in the curriculum in order to enhance children’s motivation and active participation in the learning process. Children are required to choose their own topic of interest and are free to explore the selected topic. Other than acquiring knowledge, children also learn to cooperate and admire each other’s work.

They are proud to have a professional team of native language teachers. All their teachers teaching English and Putonghua classes are native speakers. Children are exposed to listening, reading, speaking and writing to native teachers day by day, which greatly facilitate their acquisition of English and Putonghua proficiency.

Children in early years have great potentials in language development and acquisition. With a pleasant and stimulating bilingual learning environment aided with multicultural setting, children are able to learn and master two languages in parallel.
