Winsage Art Gallery is pleased to present the first Hong Kong solo exhibition Hybrid Objects of artist Wu Xiaohai on 18th Sept. 2018 at NP 22. With almost a hundred exhibits mainly composed of wood sculptures and ceramic artworks, the exhibition aims to bring the fantasy and surrealism in Wu Xiaohai’s practices to the physical space and evoke a series of interrogation and discussion between the creation of objects and the making of history. The artist collaborates with curator Kate Yang using the show as a place to recreate. They fictionalise a façade with the display of antiques to blur the boundary between real and fake. The reproduced artificial context provides the artworks an absurd perception with overwhelming seriousness.
