The Tuk Tuk Cinema Summer Workshop aims to improve your basic film-making skills, educate you about Stop Motion Animation and give you hands-on experience of prop-making with recycled materials.
Tuk Tuk Cinema has attracted over 7,000 audience-members and 900 participants to workshops in 10 countries. It aims to connect with communities through cultural events and to raise public awareness of low-cost movies.
This 3-day workshop introduces participants to skills such as prop-making and creating screenplays by shooting a short movie. Come and learn how to craft a production from scratch with a limited budget, and hear about other people’s experiences.

Registration for free admission on the screening (8 Aug).
Age Group: Secondary-school students or above.
Maximum 20 participants in each class.
A session will be canceled if fewer than 8 people enrol.
Workshop outline:
Day 1 - Teaching and learning of basic skills:
- Introduction to name-card time-lapse filming
- Tutorial on 4 filming solutions
- Stop-motion exercise
Day 2 - The post-production process of film-making, including splicing and audio effects
Day 3 - Showcasing of the films produced and sharing by guests (7:30 pm)
The workshop focuses on learning cinema art in an entertaining way, with recycled materials and simple equipment. You’re welcome to bring your own camera or smartphone, but this is not compulsory.
