EXCEL (EXtension and Continuing Education for Life), The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

The concept of life-long learning is a world-wide phenomenon, and has been given impetus by the HKSAR Government. HKAPA EXCEL, the continuing education arm of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, is proud to be making its contribution within the sphere of the performing arts, related technical arts, and film and television.

Established in May 2001, EXCEL is dedicated to promote artistic excellence, and enhance arts literacy, interest and appreciation through offering high quality life-long learning / part time arts education programmes to the general public of all age groups, as well as in-service professional training to teachers, corporate clients, Government Departments and courses designed for persons with disabilities.

Since 2006, EXCEL has been innovatively using drama techniques to help corporations with staff training and development.

Since 2009, EXCEL extends its expertise in musical theatre to a full-time musical theatre programme that leads to the Pearson BTEC qualifications.

EXCEL works closely with the Schools of the Academy to offer a comprehensive range of courses across the disciplines of dance, drama, film and television, music, theatre and entertainment arts, drama-based executive training, and musical theatre.

They also customise courses to suit individual organisations’ needs.

Working hours:

Mon–Fri 10:00–18:00 (Lunchtime 13:00–14:00).

Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays
