Wan Chai is one of Hong Kong’s earliest developed districts and has profound historical and cultural presence.
Have you spotted the newly added Public Art which is part of the “Comixtream in the City – Wan Chai” project that invited local artists to decorate Hong Kong Arts Centre, Southorn Playground, Revenue Tower and the lampposts surrounding Comix Home Base with ani-com elements? The district has fascinating tales and architecture of the old and the new to tell.
Comixtream in the City - Wan Chai Comix Archi-Walk is a collaboration betweenthe Hong Kong Arts Centre and the Hong Kong Architecture Centre sponsored by Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It covers twoin-depth guided tours separately led by the renowned architects Joe Lui and Ivy Yung at Hong Kong Architecture Centre, partnering with the established comics artist Jerry Cho, who will explain to the tour participants his artistic concept of his public comics art mural at one of the interior walls of the Southorn Playground. Lui and Yung will also share their insights of Wan Chai, including its history, heritage and exclusive architectural features, etc.
