Great Summmer Outdoor Entertainment and Family Fun at the HKJC Pre-Season Carnival!
The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Pre-Season Carnival, an ever-popular outdoor event for families each summer, will be held this year on Saturday, 26 August at Sha Tin Racecourse. The Carnival will be extended from the Racecourse Grandstand to Penfold Park this year to add even more family fun.
Among the headline attractions at the annual carnival this year include grand performances from Yao Jue Music Academy and the Hong Kong String Orchestra, a toy upcycling workshop offered by YMCA of Hong Kong, unicycling performances by UAHK, and a display, exhibition and mini-game booth with freebies from TINY.

Jockeys’ Sprint & Grass Trial
It’s always fun to enjoy watching the Jockeys’ Sprint, where the jockeys dismount from their horses and sprint towards the finish line in a relay contest. It encourages you to bring your little ones to sit on the fence and experience the excitement of the Pre-season Grass Trial.

Lucky Draw Registration for Pony Ride Right
Children between the ages of 6 to 15 can join Pony Rides at the Pre-Season Carnival. Parents of those interested should first purchase the Pre-season Carnival Ticket Combos, then fill in the online registration form on or before August 20 to enter the lucky draw. Winners* will have the chance to purchase a Pony Ride ticket at HK$50 each.
*Winners will receive notification by SMS individually.
Tickets
Ticket Combos go on sale from August 15, 2017 at 40 designated Off-Course Betting Branches. Each Ticket Combo costs HK$60*, including an admission ticket (HK$10), a food and beverage coupon (HK$10), a Gift at Races coupon and four game coupons (HK$40). Available while stocks last.

How to get there?
- Free shuttle bus between Sha Tin MTR Station (next to LCSD Headquarters) and Sha Tin Racecourse (Hours: Between 11:00am and 8:30pm at 15-minute intervals)
- 8 minute-walk from Exit C, Fo Tan Station to Sha Tin Racecourse
- MTR train service to / from the Racecourse MTR Station will NOT be available
- Limited car parking spaces are available at Penfold Park on a first-come-first-served basis
