Open Rehearsals | Young Audience Scheme

 

  • Open rehearsals for HK Phil Young Audience Scheme (YAS) members.
  • Free of charge but early application is required and seats are limited.

Introduction

This is a unique chance to experience at the Hong Kong Philharmonic at work in rehearsal in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The behind-the-scenes experience gives young people the opportunity to see how an orchestra prepares for a performance and learn from the orchestra musicians, conductors and guest artists. 

Application Details

This is an individual booking. For application form, please download here. Attendants are expected to treat the open rehearsal as a part of their music learning experience and to listen attentively to the rehearsal. Every YAS member can bring a maximum of 5 guests to the open rehearsal. 

  • Rehearsal Duration: ~1.5 hours
  • Rehearsal Admission: You must arrive 15 minutes before the rehearsal starts
  • Rehearsal Venue: Concert Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre
  • Seating: Stalls 2
  • Application deadline: 2 weeks before the confirmed open rehearsal

Rehearsal Etiquette

  • Recording, filming and photography are not allowed.
  • Switch off your mobile phone and any other beeping devices before the rehearsal.
  • Reserve your applause until the end of the rehearsal.
  • No eating or drinking of any kind is permitted in the concert hall.

Remarks

  • Seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The Hong Kong Philharmonic reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the rehearsals without prior notice.
  • The conductor and soloist reserve the right to amend the rehearsal orders and repertoire.
