“A winning combination of visually stunning sculptures and cheeky but heartfelt storytelling that keeps both adults and children enthralled”
— British Theatre Guide, UK
A surreal aerial spectacular to enchant all ages
In this whimsical tale of two siblings on an absurdly funny journey, there’s also a fresh way to think about the air we breathe and its amazing capabilities. Wind power is harnessed to send ordinary objects, such as umbrellas, up, up and away while filmy fabrics float on high, glitzy confetti dance and swirl in striking formations, and balloons are a constant source of fun.
Acrobuffos comprises Americans Seth Bloom and Christina Gelsone, an accomplished clown duo who have garnered international renown with their hilarious circus-style antics delivered in a unique street-performance style. The husband-andwife team has toured over 20 countries. In devising Air Play, the pair collaborated with acclaimed air sculptor Daniel Wurtzel whose work has taken centre stage at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, on Broadway, and at museums around the world. The resulting production is a picturesque poem with universal appeal. A delight to behold.
