Island Children's Montessori School

Island Children's Montessori International Nursery and Kindergarten is a a top kindergarten offering an authentic Montessori curriculum that is Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) recognized.

Their four campuses are located in Causeway Bay, North Point and Sai Wan Ho on Hong Kong Island.

All their Montessori teachers are Montessori trained, including Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and American Montessori Society (AMS).

They believe that each child has diverse needs, interests and abilities that should be nurtured in an environment where his/her cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs are met; and unique potentialities maximized.

Their main Montessori principles are:

  • Respect the child in his personality and integrity as an individual.
  • Support the child in developing his own will, giving him the opportunity to work independently and to make his own choices.
  • Help him overcome difficulties.

According to Montessori philosophy, the optimum time for developing and honing core life skills is birth to six. The knowledge and skills learned in the Montessori environment will help your child become a critical thinker, problem solver, and lifelong learner.

Montessori education is a philosophy through which everything relevant to the life of the child, during their particular stage of development, is provided in an appropriate, stimulating and sensitive environment, so that learning through discovery and self-direction is nurtured. The purpose of Montessori education is twofold: to help the individual to reach self-awareness and self-worth and, to fully develop the individual's various potentialities.

They offer Montessori programs for children aged 18 months to 7 years.
