Not only is calligraphy an elegant form of art, when done right, it can also refine one’s temperament.
This quarter, K11 Design Store joins hands once again with local calligraphy talent Travis Ying for a series of western calligraphy workshops covering various forms of writing, including Modern Calligraphy, Gothic Calligraphy and Brush Calligraphy. These workshops provide a relaxing environment for participants to experience the philosophy of slow living by exploring the techniques behind these elegant fonts with thick-and-thin characteristics.

Speaker: Travis Ying
Ying Man Hon (Travis), Master of Fine Arts. Having learnt calligraphy for more than 15 years, he is devoted to visual arts and has created his own style of hand lettering, including Modern Gothic and Brush Calligraphy.
In 2014, he was invited by the 43rd Hong Kong Arts Festival Artists-in-Residence Programme to be the local artist collaborating with Paper Cinema, renowned artists from UK to organize and run art workshops with targeted secondary students.
Over the years, he was interviewed by different media about his expertise, including TVB, Cable TV, and Metropop. He is also the illustrator for Mingpao Smarties’ Power English.
