Visit Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden and learn all about Masked Palm Civet.
The Masked Palm Civet has a white stripe that stretches from the forehead down to the nose, and, white spots around both eyes and ears. It produces a pungent smell when it is frightened to scare away its enemies.
As a forest animal, it performs an important ecological role by spreading seeds of native plants after eating their fruits. These eventually germinate to seedlings which grow into trees maintaining the healthy structure of the forest.
