Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s Back On Stage II (Quarantined!) created a huge following of new concert-goers when it was first screened in Hong Kong. This concert film which features German conductor Christoph Poppen and pianist Alexander Krichel in Hong Kong, documents the time when the Hong Kong City Hall was closed to the audience.
Using the latest 4K camera technology, Rachmaninov’s well-loved Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and Beethoven’s sparkling Symphony No 8 show the musicians up-close like never before, with a bonus performance of Beethoven’s timeless “Spring” Sonata where Maestro Poppen makes a rare appearance as a violinist with Krichel!
Back On Stage II (Quarantined!) was screened 22 times at Broadway Cinemas all over Hong Kong from November 2020 to September 2021, which was also one of the nominated films for the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards 2022.
