The balustrades along the verandahs of Tai Kwun’s Barrack Block are a distinctive and essential part of this historic building.
Now, you have a chance to make and bring home your very own mini baluster in our workshop. It can also be used as a candle holder.
Apart from getting a hands-on experience, this event also offers a new heritage tour. Learn about the original construction and later restoration of the balustrades as well as broader issues about materiality, craftmanship, design and the meaning of the historic architectural compound.
We have separate sessions for adults and families, with customised content to fit different age groups.
Workshop will be conducted in Cantonese.
