The Entertainment Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department is responsible for organizing two main categories of entertainment programmes!

Aim:

to provide free family entertainment to the public during major traditional festivals;
to bring regular and varied entertainment to all walks of life in their neighbourhood;
to promote performing arts;
to preserve and promote traditional Chinese arts;
to provide performance opportunities for upcoming artists and arts groups.

Territory-wide Festive Events and Carnivals

Territory-wide festivals/carnivals are presented during major festive occasions and at other times throughout the year, including the Lunar New Year Lantern Carnivals and Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnivals, featuring a variety of spectacular entertainment and participatory activities by local and visiting artists. Other territory-wide carnivals include Summer Fun Party, Community Thematic Carnivals, Youth Band Marathon, etc.
