Dramatic Storytelling – Follow the Swallow

Follow the Swallow is a story about friendship.

Apollo the Swallow and Chack the Blackbird meet in the garden as fledglings when they are both learning to fly. Apollo tells Chack excitedly that he is learning to fly so that he can travel far far away to Africa for winter with the rest of his friends; but Chack is not interested. Chack claims that the blossom on his favorite tree will eventually turn into orange berries; but Apollo doesn’t believe him. With rhetoric, love and understanding, both birds learn to embrace each other’s view and become BFF (best friends forever).

Throughout the course, children will be able to develop confidence, and expression and interpersonal skills. From the story of Follow the Swallow, children will learn the important value of friendships. They will also learn to have faith in what is good.

A short in-class presentation will be held in the last lesson of the course, in which family and friends can share the wonderful learning outcomes of the participants.
