Our new dance festival – Freespace Dance – opens with a celebration of visionary women choreographers from around the world. The month-long programme of performances, installations and screenings showcase the choreographic variety and vibrancy of contemporary women dancemakers across Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East.
Showcasing cutting-edge work by dance artists of different generations and cultures, the event spotlights the inspired inventiveness of women in dance-making and the versatility of contemporary dance. Through the diverse lenses of stage performance, digital installation and dance film creations, the works offer fresh perspectives on strength and sensitivity, and new insight on creativity and imagination in dance.
