Youth Square is launching the 7th “Book Crossing Festival” this summer to promote reading habit, as well as to encourage local youths to find enjoyments in various books.
The Mega “Book Crossing Festival” will be held during 5-6 August 2017 (Saturday and Sunday) for inviting youths to come and exchange their beloved books. Other than the key activities of book crossing at Y Theatre, there are many more exciting events to come, including Authors’ Sharing Session, Dunhuang “Art and Culture Ambassador” Sharing Session and Music Performances. So make sure you do not miss out!

- Collection priority is given to those books with genres for youth.
- Only books with copyright are accepted.
- Books with contents of violence, pornography and inappropriate messages will not be accepted.
- Magazines, comic and photographic books are not accepted.
- Damaged and defaced books are not accepted.
- Textbooks are not accepted; except for language textbooks.
Book crossing means letting the books pass around in the public. It is originated from Europe several decades ago. Book readers then attached a bookmark in their books and passed around in the public. Those who picked the books can read them freely, but they needed to follow the instruction on the bookmarks and release the books to others again. This activity promotes book reading in an environmental way and those books can be passed to an extensive crowd.
