This winter and spring, Explorers will discover how animals adapt to their environments and how their forms and structures enable them to perform different functions.
By closely observing animals such as capybaras and sharks closely, Explorers will have the opportunity to think deeply about "engineering" with regard to animals – how animals’ structural adaptions help their own survival, how humans engineer for animals, and how humans, through observation and mimicry, are inspired by animals to create new designs.
- Observe the daily life of a capybara, appreciate its adaptation on land and in water.
- Prepare nutritious food for fish.
- Taking Inspiration from the animals, design a water boat to win a race for the team.
- Invite parents to enjoy a dance performance and water boat competition.
