minimindfuls© is a six week programme designed to support developing focus, directed attention, as well as cultivating calm in a hectic and demanding world in children.

This course has two streams and is offered for children from 6 to 8 years old or 9 to 12 years old, differentiated for learning and adaptive levels.

Develop a sense of compassion for self and for others

Psynamo offers each session as an hour long journey into one of five pillars of being mindful in an easy to remember format and tie each session in to learning about a specific sense and way of being.

The first session starts each child on their learning journey with a bit of neuroscience and health measuring exercises as well as an overview of the itinerary they will carry out over the following five weeks where children will learn how to calm and manage their bodies and then to calm and manage their minds.

Each successive session builds on the model by adding knowledge, skills, practice and even some fun experiments to try out between sessions. Learning opportunities are provided through hands-on experience of the senses, practical physical exercises aimed at discovering our body regulation, both visual-audio and pencil-and-paper exercises and well as a healthy dose of art, science and imagination every week in one fun-packed hour after school.

Each week children will explore a different mindfulness pillar set, sense, emotion, activity, exercise and home experiment and by the end they will have some new practices begun that can help continue to develop skills to self-regulate, focus, find calm in stressful moments, recognise stressors more easily and have real-life strategies to hand to deal with future unknowns.
