Big Bird Race 2024 now open for registration! #BigBirdRace is WWF-Hong Kong’s longest-running birdwatching event, celebrating its 40th year this year. Come to #MaiPoNatureReserve or anywhere in Hong Kong and watch as many birds as you can! Teams which spot the most species in 12 hours will win a prize.
This year's theme bird is the Nordmann's greenshank, named after its yellow-green legs. Although it can be seen in Hong Kong during the spring season, it is actually an #endangered species globally.
Participating in the race not only allows you to learn more about various birds but also contributes to #wetland conservation! The funds raised from the competition will be directly used for wetland management at #MaiPoNatureReserve, maintaining diverse wetland habitats for birds and other wildlife.
