This International Women’s Month we continue ArtScience on Screen: Dare To…. Join these fierce females as they cross they defy expectation and Dare to choose their own destiny.
Despite cinematic history traditionally showing a bias toward male characters, the protagonist and antagonist of Disney’s first feature length film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, were both female. Since then they have been joined diverse array of female characters for both little girls and little boys to look up to and emulate into adulthood.
ArtScience on Screen aims to shine a light on the many strong, complex female characters within the Disney animation pantheon, offering older visitors a chance to revisit childhood memories and younger visitors a chance to be introduced to these inspirational characters.
Dare to… Trailblaze
A dream is a wish your heart makes, but sometimes what you dream for isn’t what your friends or family would dream for you. Join us as we celebrate those who ran the hidden pine trails less travelled, crossed the line where the sky touches the sea and refused to let gender, family or duty stop them from chasing their dream.
