The highly anticipated Summer Camp is back and it’s better than ever!

Featuring newly designed programmes by their top teachers at Aureus Academy, you will not want to miss it! Join them and plunge into fun-filled music activities at the Aureus Summer Camp this year! They will be hosting multi-day programmes that will surely jump-start every participant’s interest towards music making whether they are beginners, advanced, or with no musical background at all!

New sessions include Dalcroze-Eurhythmics and Orff Percussion programmes that will allow participants to play a wide variety of instruments, groove to exciting rhythms and perform in an interactive atmosphere!

Summer Camp Activities:

Dalcroze-Eurhythmics Class - Participants will use their bodies as their instruments for exploring new musical concepts. Movement-based activities will let them experience meaningful rhythmic patterns and allow them to express their perceptions towards music that they hear. The eurhythmics class would definitely be a fun way to develop one’s sense of artistry and imagination!
Orff Percussion Class - Students would be given the opportunity to explore different Orff instruments such as Glockenspiel, Bongos, Djembe, Hand drum, Tambourine, Triangle, Maracas and many more! Following Orff’s discovery-based learning approach to music pedagogy, this activity will aim to nurture each participant’s creativity through encouraging improvisation that will surely open their minds to the many possibilities in music! At the end of the session, all participants will be playing in a much-awaited collaborative performance!
Instrument-A-Day - Attending the Instrument-a-day class is certainly a great way to bask in the wonderful world of music! Rated as one of the most popular activities in Aureus, this part of the programme allows each student to select a musical instrument and get a hands-on experience on the basics of how to properly hold and play it. All-time favourites such as Violin, Cello, Guitar, Ukelele, Drums and Trumpet would surely be available!
Musical Building Blocks (Theory) - Learn about the different areas of music in a fun way! The beginners’ class is a great opportunity to unleash the future Mozarts in the participants through creatively structured music theory lessons and exciting games! Building a strong foundation in music theory would surely pave the way for students to acquire profound musicianship skills! In the advanced theory class, participants will be able to explore stimulating concepts such as Compound Time Signature, Accidentals, Scales, Key Signatures and more!
Choral Workshop - The Aureus Choral Workshop is for young singers who would like to experience the joys of singing and mixing voices with peers! Part-singing, rounds and canons are just few of the vocal ensemble drills that will surely enhance each participant’s ability to sing passages independently while blending with other partcipants’ voices. Moreover, students in this session will also learn about basic vocal techniques on how to produces a smooth and resonating voice! The Choral Workshop is certainly a great way to explore the different aspects of singing!
Instrumental Ensemble - Collaborating with fellow instrumentalists is indeed a delightful experience! Playing musical instruments with peers eases performance anxiety and boosts one’s self-confidence. In the ensemble class, students will be grouped according to the instrument that they are learning and will be given the chance to perform pieces for duets, trios and quartets! This is also a great opportunity to learn from fellow musicians in a supportive and enjoyable setting.
