Students learn a new language best when they are having fun and using English in a context that is meaningful for them.

That is why the Speaking English with Confidence camp will use a mixture of games, projects, drama and communicative activities to encourage students to interact in pairs, small groups and whole class situations, boosting child’s English fluency and confidence.

Each day will explore a different topic connected to the world around us, using the overall theme of a radio show. Each day the students will write and perform a segment of this, resulting in a complete radio lifestyle show by the end of the week.

The camp will be offered at two levels, ELL Phases 1-2 and Phases 3-4. While the overall themes and outcomes will be the same for both levels, the activities and materials used will be different, thus ensuring an appropriate level of challenge while also meeting the different needs of the students.
