Car-Free Sunday

Car-Free Sunday

Car-Free Sunday 2024 promotes Singapore’s car-lite goal by creating greater public awareness of the benefits of walking, cycling and riding public transport as sustainable ways to travel.

From 8am to 2pm on 17 March, visitors can participate in various activities put together by LTA and partners at the two main event spaces along St Andrew’s Road and Esplanade Drive.

From games to inline skating and aeromodelling, there will be activities catered to visitors of different ages.

Visitors can also walk, run or cycle along designated roads which will be closed to traffic from 8am to 11am.

  • WALK, CYCLE AND RUN ON CLOSED ROADS

Embrace a healthy and active lifestyle while appreciating the beauty of our city by joining us for a refreshing morning of outdoor walking, cycling, and running along car-free roads.

  • REIMAGINING ACTIVE MOBILITY

Journey through the “Corridor of Possibilities” and experience an immersive installation about creating vibrant and active community spaces that are also conducive for pedestrians and cyclists. You are also encouraged to share your stories, aspirations, and contribute to the shaping of our collective active mobility vision.

  • TRY OUT INTERACTIVE GAMES AND ACTIVITIES

Participate in games to learn about safe path and road sharing practices. There are also outdoor activity stations to put your riding skills to the test.

Keen on inline skating, skateboarding and new sports such as aeromodelling, korfball and parkour? You can try out these family-centric activities organised by the Health Promotion Board and SportSG’s partners!

  • ACTIVE MOBILITY COLLECTION

Singapore Fashion Runway (SFR) has designed a special Active Mobility collection that will be launched at event. These include T-shirts, bucket hats, sling bags and zip pouches which will be modelled by SFR youths and available for purchase.

  • PLAY ON CLOSED ROADS

Visitors can also look forward to the Singapore Really Really Free Market, which fosters a sharing and caring community.

A chill-out area provided by OCBC will allow visitors to take a breather from the activities. Visitors can also look forward to the Milo van, as well as refreshments and food options available for purchase from the Goodburger Food Truck.
